Tuesday Meet Info

Good evening Wahoos!

A few quick reminders about the meet this week:

1. Arrive at Cary Swim Club no later than 5:15

2. Please check in with Mrs. Bearrows, Coach Lauren and Coach Riley when you arrive.

3. Heat Sheets are attached. Please remember that heat sheets are subject to change (and usually do change right before the meet as we learn of swimmers missing last minute due to illness).

Lastly, here is a note from Cary Swim Club with some important information for our meet this week:

Dear Walden Creek Wahoos,

The Cary Swim Club Imps would like to welcome you, your swimmers, and your families to the 4th TSA dual swim meet of the season on Tuesday, July 5th, at our pool. We are looking forward to a great meet and would like to share some information that may help your team.

Location and Contact Information:
Our address is 808 Tanglewood Drive, which is on the corner of Walnut Street and Tanglewood Drive. The parking lot and pool entrance are accessible only from Tanglewood Drive. The phone number for the pool is 919-469-8084.

Facility:
Cary Swim Club has an 8 lane 25-yard pool.
Parking is available on our premises as well as across the street at the church parking lot on Tanglewood Drive. We reserve our parking lot for the visiting team. Once our lot fills, please ask your families to use the yellow-striped parking spaces first in the church lot.

The visiting team usually marks their spot on the side of the pool immediately to the right as you enter the deck area. Your team is welcome to set up their chairs, canopies, etc. in this area. This includes the shelter and the grassy area near the back of the pool. Please DO NOT set up directly behind starting blocks as this is where swimmers will line up for Clerk of Course.

The baby/toddler pool, volleyball court, and tennis/ multi-sport area are closed during the meet. We will be "roping off" the volleyball court but since it is not fully fenced off nor is this a lighted area, for safety reasons we ask parents to please be sure to keep your swimmers and siblings off the sand court.

UNFORTUNATELY, there have been some recent car break-ins in the area - in broad daylight. PLEASE advise your families to not leave any valuables (pocketbooks, devices) in plain sight, to lock their cars, and to consider bringing valuables in with them.

Concessions
The concession stand will be open. We have pizza, hotdogs/hamburgers, barbecue sandwiches (sometimes), baked potatoes (maybe), macaroni & cheese (maybe), chips, candy, and Rita’s Ice available for purchase. We ONLY accept cash. You may bring your own food and coolers. No glass is allowed on the pool deck. As per TSA regulations no alcohol may be brought in or consumed during a TSA event. Our facility is also a NO SMOKING facility, this includes the use of e-cigarettes, vape or Juul devices.

Warmups

As the host team, we will warm up from 5:00 to 5:30. The pool will be available for your team to warm up from 5:30 to 6:00.

Volunteer Pre-Meet Briefing
There will be a pre-meet briefing promptly at 5:45 pm on the grassy hill area just outside the main entrance to the pool. Kindly have all people officiating at the meet and yourselves in attendance at that time.

Parents/Coaches Relay!
If the meet is running on schedule, our coaches and parents are always ready for a little fun after completion of breast stroke. We wish to challenge your club’s parents and coaches to a relay race. The kids really enjoy this! Let us know if you have parents/coaches who’d like to participate. We often have at least 2 if not 3 relays from our parents/coaches.
